ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Browns RB Nick Chubb suffered a torn MCL and was given a recovery window of six to eight months.

Based on how it looked in real time, this sounds like one of the better prognoses Chubb could have received. The Browns feared a multi-ligament injury, which would have likely extended the recovery timeframe to eight to 10 months. The pre-surgery recover window is clearly subject to change as Chubb has not gone under the knife yet, meaning we will know more once his surgery is performed. As of now, consider it great news for the electric back.

Jets placed OT Duane Brown on injured reserve.

That escalated quickly. In the span of 24 hours, Duane’s status went from “we think he’ll play,” to out for Week 3, to injured reserve. The 36-year-old tackle will now miss the next four games for the Jets.

Dolphins ruled out WR Jaylen Waddle (concussion) for Week 3 against the Broncos.

Whelp, that didn’t take long following the news of the elevation of wide receiver Robbie Chosen. Waddle will now look to clear the league’s concussion protocols in time for the team’s Week 4 showdown against the Bills in Buffalo.

Saints placed RB Jamaal Williamson on injured reserve.

Williams will now miss the next four games. Kendre Miller makes his professional debut on Sunday after missing the team’s first two games of the season and the Saints get Alvin Kamara back from suspension for Week 4. Miller could see featured usage in his first game against the Packers if the Saints want to see how much of a between-the-tackles workload he can handle to pair with Alvin Kamara upon the latter’s return.

Dolphins elevated WR Robbie Chosen from the practice squad.

Chosen’s elevation is not noteworthy in and of itself, but when taken through the light of Jaylen Waddle’s designation as questionable due to concussion, it becomes a bit more prevalent. Waddle was able to get in a limited session on Friday, but practiced in a red non-contact jersey which hints that the standout wide receiver still has steps left to clear in the league’s five-step concussion protocol. Whether or not he is able to clear those steps before Sunday remains to be seen, but the elevation of Robbie Chosen does not bode well for his chances of returning to action in time for Sunday’s game against the Broncos. We’ll hear final word when the team releases their inactives list tomorrow. Fantasy managers at least get the pleasantry of having the knowledge of Waddle’s status early in the day with the Dolphins playing in the early games.

Eagles ruled RB Boston Scott and WR Quez Watkins out for Monday Night Football against the Buccaneers.

Scott managed a limited session on Saturday but was ultimately unable to make enough progress through the league’s concussion protocol to be cleared to play Monday. The fact that he wasn’t listed as questionable means that there were a significant number of steps left to clear before he could return to the lineup. Watkins remains out with a hamstring injury after not being able to practice in any fashion this week.

Rams listed WR Puka Nacua as questionable for Monday Night Football against the Bengals.

Head coach Sean McVay relayed that he expects the surging rookie to play against the Bengals in Week 3 even though he is listed as questionable. Nacua has set multiple rookie records through his first two professional outings, including most targets for a rookie through two games, most targets for a rookie in a single game, and most reception for a rookie in a single game.

Bengals list TE Irv Smith as doubtful for Week 3 against the Rams.

Smith first popped on the team’s injury report on Friday, meaning he likely picked up the injury during the team’s first practice session of the week on Thursday. He was able to manage back-to-back limited sessions on Friday and Saturday but draws the doubtful tag for Monday Night Football against the Rams. Drew Sample and Mitchell Wilcox are on hand to handle tight end duties for a Bengals team that could also be without quarterback Joe Burrow, who is listed as questionable after aggravating the calf injury he suffered in camp.
