ATHLETICS TEAM NEWS CENTER
JP Sears gave up three runs over four innings Sunday in a loss to the Angels.
Sears gave up two homers, bringing his season total to 34 allowed in 172 1/3 innings. The 161/53 K/BB ratio is pretty good on the surface, but as an extreme flyball pitcher, he’ll need better numbers in the strikeout department in order to be an average starter. The A’s will probably bring him back as one of their top five starters next year.
