The win, in combination with the Rangers’ loss, gave the Astros the AL West title. Javier got a nice confidence builder versus the Diamondbacks ‘B’ lineup that was missing most of the team’s best hitters. It’s just the third time in 3 1/2 months that he’s completed six innings, and it’s the first time since June 15 that he’s gone without allowing a run. He ends the year 10-5 with a 4.56 ERA in 162 innings. Expectations are that he’ll start Game 3 of the ALDS.
