Saints HC Dennis Allen said Derek Carr is in the league’s concussion protocol.

This is Carr’s second brain injury in a month. Carr hasn’t missed a start despite multiple injuries this season but could be at risk of missing the Saints’ Week 14 contest against the Panthers. Carr will need to clear concussion protocol if he hopes to suit up, but a rib injury could also sideline him for a period of time. According to Allen, concerns over a shoulder injury to Carr don’t appear as concerning at this time, but there’s no doubting the veteran quarterback has taken a beating this season. If he’s unable to go, we’ll likely be looking at Jameis Winston as the starter against the Panthers.

Lynn Bowden caught 1-of-2 targets for five yards in the Saints’ Week 13 loss to the Lions.

Bowden, who last week had 40 rushing yards against Atlanta, ran 20 routes on 31 Saints drop backs against the Lions. He remains a reasonable deep league add while the Saints deal with a series of wide receiver injuries.

Jameis Winston completed 2-of-5 attempts for 41 yards in the Saints’ Week 13 loss against the Lions.

Winston entered the game in the third quarter after Derek Carr took a shot and was evaluated for injuries to his head, back, and shoulder. Winston was his typical erratic self — his longest completion came on a tipped pass thrown directly at a Detroit safety.

Chris Olave caught 5-of-8 targets for 119 yards in the Saints’ Week 13 loss to the Lions.

Olave’s biggest gain of the day — a 33-yard catch and run — came on a terribly thrown, tipped ball from Jameis Winston after Derek Carr’s second half exit. Olave tied Alvin Kamara for the team lead in targets in a run-heavy scheme for New Orleans. Olave, who was in the league’s concussion protocol last week, now has seven straight games with at least five receptions. If Winston subs in for Carr in Week 14 against the Panthers, Olave would figure to have a much higher ceiling than he usually does with Carr under center.

Juwan Johnson did not catch any of his three targets in the Saints’ Week 13 loss against the Lions.

Johnson had two brutal drops in the first half and seemed out of synch with Derek Carr and the Saints QBs throughout. Johnson last week had 45 yards on seven targets and appeared to be a real part of the New Orleans passing offense. His poor performance brings Johnson’s role into question, though he could be a viable streaming play in Week 14 against Carolina.

Alvin Kamara had 14 rushes for 51 yards and two touchdowns in the Saints’ Week 13 loss to the Lions, adding six catches for 58 yards.

Kamara had only one more rushing attempt than Taysom Hill. He punched in two short touchdowns after Hill had been stuffed near the goal line and led the Saints with six receptions. He tied Chris Olave for the team lead with eight targets.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Chris Olave (concussion) is expected to play in Week 13 against the Lions.

Olave got in a full practice to close the week but still needed a final nod of approval from the medical staff as of Friday. As expected, he appears to be good to go. Sans Michael Thomas and Rashid Shaheed, Derek Carr will be throwing Olave as many targets as he can handle. In a high-scoring game against the Lions, Olave ranks as a ceiling-based WR1.

Rashid Shaheed (thigh) will not play in Week 13 against the Lions.

Shaheed suffered the injury in Week 12 against the Falcons and was unable to return. He did not practice at all this week, so it’s no surprise to see him among the players New Orleans ruled out on Friday. A.T. Perry will take over the WR2 role with both Shaheed and Michael Thomas injured. Perry is worth a stash in deeper leagues, though the injuries may simply funnel more touches to Alvin Kamara and Taysom Hill. Perry will rank as a WR5/6 for Week 13.

Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz reports the Texans are signing S Adrian Amos.

Amos appeared in 11 games with the Jets this season before getting waived prior to Week 13. The Texans now add Amos to a solid safety room that includes Jalen Pitre and Jimmie Ward. DeMeco Ryans’ defense has been humming lately, with three picks in Week 13’s win over the Broncos. Adding Amos, a former Bear and Packer, gives the Texans depth for a playoff push.

Steelers RB Najee Harris (knee) did not participate in practice Tuesday.

Harris popped up on the injury report with a new knee issue on Tuesday. He was not listed with an injury on Monday, but now was listed as not practicing with a Thursday game looming in Week 14. Wednesday’s practice status will provide clarity on Harris’ health for Thursday against the Patriots, but his new knee injury is a situation to monitor. If Harris misses time, Jaylen Warren will receive a major boost for fantasy managers.

Patriots WR DeVante Parker (knee) was limited in Tuesday practice.

Parker was listed as limited for the second straight day with a knee injury. He was the Patriots’ leading receiver in Week 13, though his fantasy ceiling is limited with a somber quarterback situation. Fellow WRs JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle) and Kayshon Boutte (shoulder) were also limited in Tuesday’s practice. None of the Pats’ pass-catchers are confident fantasy plays against a tough Steelers defense in Week 14.

Patriots WR Demario Douglas (concussion) was a DNP for Tuesday’s practice.

Douglas missed Week 13 with a concussion he suffered in Week 12. With a short week leading up to a Thursday matchup against the Steelers, back-to-back missed practice listings do not bode well for Douglas’ Week 14 status. He leads the Patriots in receiving yards as a rookie and if Douglas cannot play this week, DeVante Parker is slated to be the team’s primary receiver.

The Athletic’s Jeff Howe reports the Jaguars have not ruled out Trevor Lawrence (ankle) for Week 14.

Although it’s unlikely, the Jaguars are holding out hope that Lawrence can give it a go in Week 14. According to Howe, Lawrence will be receiving around the clock treatment to help his high ankle sprain. It would be a miraculous comeback if Lawrence were able to suit up, but fantasy managers shouldn’t get their hopes up just yet. Stay tuned.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports the Packers have signed Kenyan Drake to their practice squad.

No word yet on what this means for Aaron Jones’ status, but for now it looks like a depth signing. Drake last played with Ravens until he was released in October of this season. If Aaron Jones misses another game, don’t be shocked to see Drake working behind AJ Dillon.

Dolphins LB Jerome Baker (knee) is week-to-week but will avoid a trip to the IR.

Baker got injured in the second quarter of the Dolphins’ win over the Commanders but was not able to return to the game. Head coach Mike McDaniel said on Tuesday that Baker’s injury will not require surgery and the linebacker is considered week-to-week. Baker has 65 tackles and 1.5 sacks this season, so the Dolphins will look to replace that production in the starting lineup over the next few weeks.

Dolphins OG Robert Hunt (hamstring) is week-to-week and expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Titans.

Hunt was the Dolphins’ second-round pick in the 2020 draft and has graded out as the 5th-best guard in the NFL this season, according to Pro Football Focus. Hunt has been equally adept in both pass blocking and run blocking, so his loss is a notable one. However, the Titans are also likely to be without stud defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons, so Hunt’s injury might not impact the Dolphins much in Week 14, but they’ll hope he can come back soon.
