Commanders HC Ron Rivera said Emmanuel Forbes’ elbow injury is “pretty significant.”

Forbes didn’t practice in the short week leading up to Week 12’s game against the Cowboys and was held out of the contest. According to Rivera, the team will consult doctors to see when Forbes could return. The rookie first-round pick has had a well-documented season for all the wrong reasons, having been repeatedly torched by opposing receivers — most notably AJ Brown in Weeks 4 and 8. We’ll see if Forbes winds up being an IR candidate or if he’s able to return in a week or two.

Logan Thomas caught 2-of-4 targets for 15 yards in the Commanders’ Week 12 loss to the Cowboys.

The Commanders tight end totaled just 15 yards in a blowout loss to the Cowboys. He has seen usage to make him a fringe TE1 in weeks past, but the dismal Commanders offense did not use him as much in Week 12. Once the game was out of hand in the fourth quarter, Cole Turner entered the lineup over Thomas. Thomas is still the primary Commanders tight end and will be a back-end TE1 against the Dolphins in Week 13.

Jahan Dotson caught 5-of-6 targets for 52 yards in the Commanders’ Week 12 loss to the Cowboys.

Operating as the Commanders’ third receiving option, Dotson caught five passes for no scores. Sam Howell is one of the highest-volume passers in the league, which will lead to opportunity for Dotson, though not much as Curtis Samuel has established himself as a consistent option and Terry McLaurin is the alpha. He will have a boom-or-bust rest of the season, making him a shaky WR4 against the Dolphins in Week 13.

Curtis Samuel caught 9-of-12 targets for 100 yards in the Commanders’ Week 12 loss to the Cowboys.

Samuel was Sam Howell’s security blanket, seeing targets all over the field and gaining 100 yards receiving. He was tackled at the one-yard line on a reception over the middle, coming close to an even bigger day. The Commanders’ receiving distribution is a head-scratcher for fantasy managers, though Samuel’s emergence as a consistent target is not to be ignored. Samuel is a WR4 in Week 13 against the Dolphins.

Terry McLaurin caught 4-of-11 targets for 50 yards in the Commanders’ Week 12 loss to the Cowboys.

McLaurin saw a whopping 11 targets, catching just four of them as Sam Howell could not connect with the veteran. He saw a few deep targets, but could not reel any of them in, ending with 12.5 yards per reception. McLaurin is technically the Commanders’ alpha, but in a dismal offense, he is a WR3 against the Dolphins in Week 13.

Antonio Gibson rushed six times for 21 yards in the Commanders’ Week 12 loss to the Cowboys, adding three receptions for 16 additional yards.

Gibson slotted back into his role as the passing-down back for the Commanders. He was in on third-and-long situations, as well as late in the fourth quarter with the Cowboys up big in a blowout. Chris Rodriguez got a few garbage time touches, but Gibson remains the Commanders’ RB2. His role as a pass-catcher elevates him to a upside FLEX play for Week 13 against the Dolphins.

Brian Robinson rushed 15 times for 53 yards in the Commanders’ Week 12 loss to the Cowboys, adding two receptions for 11 additional yards.

Robinson saw 15 carries despite a negative game script against the Cowboys, averaging just 3.5 yards per carry. With Antonio Gibson back in the lineup, Robinson still started, but lost out on third down plays and passing game usage. He briefly left the game for a concussion check, getting cleared and re-entering the same drive. The Commanders continue to give Robinson a high volume of opportunities, making him an RB2 against the Dolphins for Week 12.

Sam Howell completed 28-of-44 passes for 300 yards, an interception, and scored a rushing touchdown in the Commanders’ 45-10, Week 12 loss to the Cowboys.

The Commanders were the clear worse team to the Cowboys, leading to a high passing volume for Howell. He showcased his mobility, escaping pass rushers multiple times and scoring a rushing touchdown, but still taking four sacks. DaRon Bland reeled in a record-breaking pick six in the fourth quarter against Howell, who failed to connect with anyone but Curtis Samuel on a consistent basis. Sacks and turnovers continue to be an issue for Howell, but his passing volume makes him a back-end QB1 for Week 13 against the Dolphins.

Gibson missed Week 11 with a toe injury, getting in limited practices prior toe an upcoming Week 12 Thanksgiving showdown against the Cowboys. Brian Robinson’s receiving usage will take a hit if Gibson returns, but Gibson will first warm up on the field before a final decision is made on his game status.

Forbes picked up the injury in Week 11 and was unable to practice this week. The rookie corner has been in and out of the lineup because of poor play this year but put together a solid game last week, allowing just 31 yards on 32 coverage snaps. It’s possible he was turning the corner, though we will have to wait at least another week to find out.

Gibson was limited in practice this week after missing Week 11 because of the toe issue. In his absence, Brian Robinson racked up a career-high, nine targets. He has 15 targets over the past two weeks. Robinson will still get the bulk of the carries for Washington if Gibson plays, but the loss of receiving work will be a notable hit to his fantasy outlook.

McBride was in uniform for the session but worked off to the side, ultimately going down as a DNP. Not much is known about his injury as of Wednesday. Should he be forced to miss Week 13, rookie Elijah Higgins and veteran Geoff Swaim would both see reps. Neither would be an ideal streaming option at tight end.

Kenneth Walker (oblique) is doubtful for Week 13 against the Cowboys.

Walker was always a long-shot to play this week, so a doubtful tag isn’t a surprise. He will look to return in Week 14 versus the 49ers, though, after not practicing at all this week, that’s not a given for the second-year running back. Until he is healthy, Zach Charbonnet will dominate the work in the Seattle backfield. Charbonnet will straddle the RB1/2 border in a tough matchup with the Cowboys’ defense this week.

Marvin Mims (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

A limited session suggests Mims will be off the injury report by Friday, though it’s not great to see him on the report yet again. He was added to the report with an ankle issue ahead of Week 11. Mims has been running more routes lately but hasn’t converted them into an increase in production. Healthy or not, he isn’t on the fantasy radar heading into Week 13.

Kadarius Toney (ankle/hip) is practicing in full for Week 13 against the Packers.

Toney missed Week 12 because of the pair of injuries but looks ready to return after just one absence. Toney has peaked at 35 receiving yards in a game this year and has just one touchdown. Fantasy managers should have cut bait on him weeks ago.

Goedert went down with the arm injury in Week 9. The Eagles declined to put him on injured reserve meaning that expect him to miss fewer than four games. He has only missed two so far and looks likely to sit for a third when the Eagles take on the 49ers on Sunday. Jack Stoll will start in his place but has no fantasy value for Week 13.

Smith, A.J. Brown, and D’Andre Swift were all estimated as limited for Wednesday’s walkthrough. All three played through their injuries last week and will almost certainly do so again versus the 49ers in Week 13. Smith has seen an uptick in targets since Dallas Goedert went down. Goedert will likely sit again this week, keeping Smith near the top of the WR2 ranks.

Swift played through the knee issue without any limitations last week and a limited session on Wednesday indicates he will do the same in Week 13. Swift gets a tough matchup with the 49ers’ stalwart defense this week. Still, operating as the lead-back on one of the best offenses in football will keep him in the RB2 ranks for Week 13.

Brown played through the thigh issue last week after missing Wednesday’s practice, so a limited session this time around is actually an improvement. There’s no reason to believe he won’t play in Week 13. Brown will sit firmly within the WR1 ranks for Philly’s matchup with San Francisco.
