Kyle Pitts caught 4-of-8 targets for 51 yards in the Falcons’ Week 13 win over the Jets.

Pitts saw plenty of air yards once again but failed to do much with them, as has often been the case this year. Some of his missed opportunities were poor throws by Desmond Ridder, but Pitts also committed a drop that won’t win him any love from head coach Arthur Smith. Pitts has peaked at 56 yards over his past seven games. He remains stuck in the middle of the TE2 ranks for Week 14 against the Bucs.

Falcons head coach Arthur Smith said Kyle Pitts is “a big part” of the team’s offense.

Pitts, who hasn’t seen more than five targets in a game since the middle of October, most recently ran a route on just 66 percent of the Falcons’ drop backs in Week 12, catching both of his targets for 22 yards. Smith said MyCole Pruitt and Parker Hesse were better fits for what the Falcons were trying to do against the Saints last Sunday (run the ball). In the run-first Atlanta offense, Pitts is not a viable fantasy option in 12-team leagues. Maybe next year.

Kyle Pitts caught both of his targets for 22 yards in the Falcons’ Week 12 win against the Saints.

Pitts played against New Orleans after missing practice time last week with family issues. He now has more than three receptions in just one of his past five games and has eclipsed 50 yards once since the beginning of October. The fourth or fifth pass-catching option in the league’s run heaviest offense, Pitts is a fantasy non-factor. He’ll be a deep league option in Week 13 against the Jets.

There’s no cause for concern for Pitts’ absence at this time, as beat writer Michael Rothstein notes his absence is for personal/family reasons. Coming off a bye week, the Falcons won’t began ramping things up for Week 12 until Wednesday. Pitts is expected to return when practice for this week’s matchup against the Saints gets underway.

Kyle Pitts hasn’t been involved a great deal even with Taylor Heinicke at quarterback. The Falcons staff (Arthur Smith) seem frightened to make any down field throws with either signal caller. Pitts has shown flashes this season, but inconsistent quarterback play is wasting the young talent’s career away.

Pitts’ day was highlighted by a 27 yard grab down the seam. It was Jonnu Smith who was featured in Arthur Smith’s ingenious offensive scheme, as Smith saw goal line carries and caught four passes for 91 yards, including a 61-yard catch and run in the second half.

Pitts’ latest quiet day came even with Taylor Heinicke relieving Desmond Ridder for the entire second half and more than doubling Ridder’s first half production. Pitts did out-target Jonnu Smith 5-1. Pitts has stabilized as a low-end TE1, but his floor remains lower than it should be while the ceiling efforts remain too few and far between. The Vikings are an appealing matchup for a Week 9 where four teams will be on bye.

Pitts got 39 of his yards on what set up the game-winning field goal. This was another strong game for Pitts, who had seven catches in Week 5 and found the end-zone last week. Pitts will be a low-end TE1 for a Week 8 matchup with Tennessee.

Pitts was an afterthought coming off season-high nine targets in Week 3. Jonnu Smith led Atlanta in receiving and saw two more targets than Pitts, who has now been held to two catches in 3-of-4 games. Looking ahead to Week 5, Pitts has a good chance to get back on track for a matchup with the Texans.

Pitts’ nine targets paced the Falcons. It was his first game with more than five targets this season. Still, he racked up far more prayer yards than actual yards as Desmond Ridder overthrew him multiple times. Pitts has shown the ability to earn targets and make big plays, but his team’s commitment to the run and poor quarterback play could prevent him from posting TE1 numbers. He will sit on the TE1/2 border heading into Week 4 versus the Jaguars.

Grayson Allen provided a solid boost on Tuesday with 21 points (6-of-14 FGs), two rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block and four 3-pointers against the Lakers.

Allen has been a solid option for the Suns this season, especially early on with Bradley Beal and Devin Booker both missing time with injuries. With Beal still out, Allen has been in the starting unit, and when he’s hitting shots, he has the ability to provide value. That was the case in this game. Unfortunately, instead of playing on a 2-game day on Thursday, their next game will be on Friday against the Kings, with 12 other games going on. Allen has been just outside the top-100 in 9-cat value this season, so he is still worth a roster spot in standard leagues.

Devin Booker struggled on Tuesday but still contributed 21 points (6-of-16 FGs), 11 rebounds, six assists, one steal, one block, one triple and seven turnovers against the Lakers.

Book didn’t have a dominant night scoring the ball, but he was still able to contribute solid value across the board. He posted gaudy numbers in every category, though that included turnovers. He had seven of Phoenix’s 22 turnovers, 10 of which came in the first quarter. They cleaned up their act after that, but Booker’s high turnover count and poor shooting percentage were less than ideal for fantasy managers that have him rostered. Book is still an elite player and one of the best in fantasy hoops. He has also been a better rebounder over his last two games, finishing with double figure boards for the first two times this season.

Kevin Durant led the Suns with 31 points (12-of-17 FGs), seven rebounds, four assists, one block, four triples and five turnovers in a 106-103 loss to the Lakers on Tuesday in the In-Season Tournament.

Durant had a chance to tie the game after Anthony Davis missed a free throw with about six seconds left, but he ended up airballing a tough shot. However, he still had a really good game. He only missed five total shots, and he shot over 70% from the field for the second straight game after two straight shooting below 40%. Durant has been one of the ten best players in fantasy basketball, and more importantly, he has been healthy so far this season. He hasn’t had a healthy season since he left Golden State, but as long as he’s still on the floor, he’ll be one of the best players in fantasy basketball.

Austin Reaves provided a boost off the bench with 20 points (7-of-16 FGs), six rebounds, two assists and three 3-pointers against the Suns on Tuesday.

Outside of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Reaves was the only Laker that was able to contribute much statistically in this game. When it came to the end of the game, and the Lakers held a one-point lead, they gave the ball to Reaves. He hit a dagger 3-pointer to extend their lead to four with 15 seconds remaining. Many managers may have seen the move to the bench as a demotion, but that can’t be further from the truth. It has worked well for the Lakers, even if it hasn’t helped his fantasy production. Reaves won’t reach his Yahoo ADP of 90, but he will still be effective.

Anthony Davis recorded a double-double on Tuesday with 27 points (10-of-26 FGs), 15 rebounds, one assist and two blocks against Phoenix.

AD’s dominant season continued on Tuesday, and there haven’t been many teams that have been able to slow him down this season. Over his last four games, he is averaging 28.3 points, 15 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game. The knock on AD in fantasy has always been his inability to stay healthy, but he has only missed one game this season. He will continue to be listed on every injury report, but unless he suffers a new injury, he should continue to remain in the lineup. Davis has been a top five player in 9-cat leagues this season, and there is no reason to think that he will slow down anytime soon.

LeBron James led the Lakers with 31 points (12-of-25 FGs), eight rebounds, 11 assists, five steals and two triples in a 106-103 win over the Suns in the In-Season Tournament on Tuesday.

Even at the age of 39, LeBron is still capable of taking over a game and carrying his team to victory. He posted a monster line and made big plays to help the Lakers advance in the In-Season Tournament. They’ll play the Pelicans this Thursday in Vegas, with a chance to play the winner of the Bucks and Pacers on the line. LeBron had one of his best games of the season and set a new season-high for steals. The legend of “Playoff LeBron” may extend to the In-Season Tournament, which will certainly benefit the managers that have him playing again on Thursday.
