The Reds outfielder has been in trade conversations since the off-season and the rumors will only heat up with the trade deadline quickly approaching. Bruce has a slash line of .263/.315/.533 with 19 homeruns and 66 RBIs this season and would help any contending team that needs outfield help. Fantasy owners that participate in a league specific format need to pay close attention over the next couple of weeks as there is a strong possibility Bruce could land in the American League if he is dealt.

Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman hit for the cycle on Wednesday night in a win over the Cincinnati Reds.

Freeman is just the third Braves player to hit for the cycle in the last 100 years, a pretty amazing feat. The Braves first baseman only drove in one RBI, which came on a solo home run in the sixth inning, but he scored two runs in the game which certainly helped the Braves. Freeman has now homered in two out of three games, and he is 7-for-16 at the plate in that same timespan. June has the makings to be his best month out of the year so far, and he will look to continue swinging a hot bat against Reds right-handed pitcher Dan Straily. I would not consider Freeman for daily fantasy purposes tomorrow as left-handers are hitting just .162 against Straily this season.

Scott Kazmir allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks while striking out 12 in six innings on Wednesday against the Cincinnati Reds.

Kazmir is the latest pitcher to run through the Cincinnati lineup. The southpaw had 12 strikeouts over his last 14.1 innings, before racking up 12 in this one. Kazmir had really been struggling of late, but he got back on track tonight with a dominant performance. He threw a strike 71 percent of the time and if he can continue to light up the strike zone, he should enjoy success. His next start will come on Monday against the Chicago Cubs.

Jason Hammel tossed six scoreless innings on Thursday, allowing just four hits with three strikeouts and four walks in the Cubs 8-1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.

Hammel used smoke and mirrors to go six scoreless against the Reds on Thursday night. He was able to to work around two doubles and four walked batters to pick up his first win of the season. The big tall right hander has allowed only one run over his first two starts of the season while striking out nine. Hammel will have his work cut out for him on Tuesday when he faces the Cardinals at Busch.

Baltimore Orioles, Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers were among the teams represented at a showcase for free-agent SP Kyle Lohse (Brewers) earlier this week.

After averaging 14 wins and posting an impressive 3.28 ERA from 2011 to 2014, Lohse had a dismal campaign for the Brewers last year. The 37-year-old righty is hoping for a chance to return to form during the upcoming season and apparently has at least a few suitors interested to see what he has left in the tank. Lohse has 15 years of big-league experience with 147 wins to show for it.

The Diamondbacks revisited talks with the Cincinnati Reds about second baseman Brandon Phillips

Phillips has long been part of the trade discussions over the last few seasons and no one seems to either want him or want to pay the Reds' asking price. The power has steadily diminished and while he managed to swipe 23 bases last season, expecting him to repeat that seems unrealistic. He hadn't swiped 20 bags in a season since 2009 and has spent years battling injuries ever since.

Cincinnati Reds RP Aroldis Chapman would be of interest to the Houston Astros if the Reds’ trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers falls through.

Considering that the deal with the Dodgers was going to be for two prospects, neither of whom were in the top three of the Dodgers prospects, there are likely to be a number of teams involved in potential Chapman discussions. Once the legal issues are settled, the Dodgers and Reds are supposed to reconvene, but that doesn't mean that a team like the Astros can swoop in with a tastier offer. And don;t think the Astros are the only ones. The Reds are likely to be inundated with offers now.

The settlement is good for both parties involved. No one wants to go to the arbitration table, especially when you're talking about an elite talent like Chapman. The final number is actually about $400K higher than the midpoint of the numbers submitted by Chapman and the team, so everyone is happy. Despite missing the first month of the season last year after a line drive cracked his face and head open during spring training, Chapman still managed to save 36 games and post a 2.00 ERA with an insane 17.67 K/9 over 54 innings. He should be the first closer off the board in your draft.

Grayson Allen provided a solid boost on Tuesday with 21 points (6-of-14 FGs), two rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block and four 3-pointers against the Lakers.

Allen has been a solid option for the Suns this season, especially early on with Bradley Beal and Devin Booker both missing time with injuries. With Beal still out, Allen has been in the starting unit, and when he’s hitting shots, he has the ability to provide value. That was the case in this game. Unfortunately, instead of playing on a 2-game day on Thursday, their next game will be on Friday against the Kings, with 12 other games going on. Allen has been just outside the top-100 in 9-cat value this season, so he is still worth a roster spot in standard leagues.

Devin Booker struggled on Tuesday but still contributed 21 points (6-of-16 FGs), 11 rebounds, six assists, one steal, one block, one triple and seven turnovers against the Lakers.

Book didn’t have a dominant night scoring the ball, but he was still able to contribute solid value across the board. He posted gaudy numbers in every category, though that included turnovers. He had seven of Phoenix’s 22 turnovers, 10 of which came in the first quarter. They cleaned up their act after that, but Booker’s high turnover count and poor shooting percentage were less than ideal for fantasy managers that have him rostered. Book is still an elite player and one of the best in fantasy hoops. He has also been a better rebounder over his last two games, finishing with double figure boards for the first two times this season.

Kevin Durant led the Suns with 31 points (12-of-17 FGs), seven rebounds, four assists, one block, four triples and five turnovers in a 106-103 loss to the Lakers on Tuesday in the In-Season Tournament.

Durant had a chance to tie the game after Anthony Davis missed a free throw with about six seconds left, but he ended up airballing a tough shot. However, he still had a really good game. He only missed five total shots, and he shot over 70% from the field for the second straight game after two straight shooting below 40%. Durant has been one of the ten best players in fantasy basketball, and more importantly, he has been healthy so far this season. He hasn’t had a healthy season since he left Golden State, but as long as he’s still on the floor, he’ll be one of the best players in fantasy basketball.

Austin Reaves provided a boost off the bench with 20 points (7-of-16 FGs), six rebounds, two assists and three 3-pointers against the Suns on Tuesday.

Outside of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Reaves was the only Laker that was able to contribute much statistically in this game. When it came to the end of the game, and the Lakers held a one-point lead, they gave the ball to Reaves. He hit a dagger 3-pointer to extend their lead to four with 15 seconds remaining. Many managers may have seen the move to the bench as a demotion, but that can’t be further from the truth. It has worked well for the Lakers, even if it hasn’t helped his fantasy production. Reaves won’t reach his Yahoo ADP of 90, but he will still be effective.

Anthony Davis recorded a double-double on Tuesday with 27 points (10-of-26 FGs), 15 rebounds, one assist and two blocks against Phoenix.

AD’s dominant season continued on Tuesday, and there haven’t been many teams that have been able to slow him down this season. Over his last four games, he is averaging 28.3 points, 15 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game. The knock on AD in fantasy has always been his inability to stay healthy, but he has only missed one game this season. He will continue to be listed on every injury report, but unless he suffers a new injury, he should continue to remain in the lineup. Davis has been a top five player in 9-cat leagues this season, and there is no reason to think that he will slow down anytime soon.

Even at the age of 39, LeBron is still capable of taking over a game and carrying his team to victory. He posted a monster line and made big plays to help the Lakers advance in the In-Season Tournament. They’ll play the Pelicans this Thursday in Vegas, with a chance to play the winner of the Bucks and Pacers on the line. LeBron had one of his best games of the season and set a new season-high for steals. The legend of “Playoff LeBron” may extend to the In-Season Tournament, which will certainly benefit the managers that have him playing again on Thursday.
