Jose Quintana yielded four runs (three earned) over four innings in a no-decision against the Phillies on Saturday.

Probably not what Quintana had in mind for his season finale. Everything was going swimmingly until the Phillies put up a four-spot in the fourth inning, the big blow of which was a three-run blast off the bat of Kyle Schwarber. This season didn’t go according to plan for the veteran southpaw, as he didn’t make his Mets debut until July 20 due to bone graft surgery on his rib, but he bounced back with a solid 3.57 ERA across 13 starts. He’s still owed $13 million next season in the second year of his two-year, $26 million contract. The Mets will be happy to have him back behind ace Kodai Senga, and presumably, a couple of offseason additions to the rotation. Sep 30 10:22 pm (EST)
