J. Winder - RP
Twins optioned RHP Josh Winder to Triple-A St. Paul.
With Chris Paddack ready to join the big league club, Winder drew the short straw and returned to Triple-A. On the season, the 26-year-old posted a 4.15 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and 28/14 K/BB ratio over 19 appearances (34 2/3 innings).

Twins activated RHP Chris Paddack from the 60-day injured list.
Paddack has missed the entire season as he recovered from last year’s Tommy John surgery. The 27-year-old has made three rehab appearances, posting a 3.72 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 15/3 K/BB ratio of 9 2/3 innings. The former top prospect will likely pitch out of the bullpen for the remainder of the season and should be ready to step back into a starter’s role next spring.

E. Pereira - LF
Everson Pereira (hamstring) is not in the Yankees’ lineup for Sunday’s contest against the Diamondbacks.
Pereira has missed a week with a low-grade hamstring strain. With remnants of Tropical Storm Ophelia still working its way up the East Coast, it is no surprise that the Yankees wouldn’t want Pereira tracking down fly balls in the wet outfield grass. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will play left field while batting sixth on Sunday.

D. Schneider - 3B
Davis Schneider is not in the Blue Jays’ starting lineup for Sunday’s showdown against the Rays.
After a white-hot start to his major league career, the 24-year-old is hitting .156/.308/.375 with a 33 percent strikeout rate in September. The Blue Jays are in the middle of a playoff push and will roll with Whit Merrifield at second base with Daulton Varsho in left field on Sunday.

Giancarlo Stanton is not in the Yankees’ starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
Stanton is likely singing “Wake Me Up When September Ends” as the slugger is hitting just .109/.222/.327 with a nearly 40 percent strikeout rate in the season’s final month. Aaron Judge will hit second as New York’s designated hitter, with Oswaldo Cabrera patrolling right field on Sunday.
Added 2:45 pm (EST)
Randy Arozarena (quad) is absent from the Rays’ starting lineup for Sunday’s AL East showdown against the Blue Jays.
Arozarena will miss his second game in a row after he exited Friday’s contest early with right quad tightness. The Rays have locked up a spot in the playoffs so fantasy managers should expect the team to take it easy with their star outfielder over the final week of the regular season. Harold Ramírez will fill in as the left fielder on Sunday.
Added 2:40 pm (EST)
Trevor Story is not in the Red Sox’s starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the White Sox.
Story has struggled mightly since returning from the injured list in early August. The 30-year-old is hitting .188/.228/.297 with two homers and a dreadfully high 33.8 percent strikeout rate. With only a week to go, it remains unlikely that the veteran will find his stride. Pablo Reyes is batting seventh and will play shortstop in his absence.

K. Barraclough - RP
Red Sox designate RHP Kyle Barraclough for assignment.
The veteran reliever turned starter pitched well in Triple-A but struggled to a 12.91 ERA and 2.61 WHIP across 7 2/3 innings with the big league club. He will likely be on the hunt for another minor league contract this winter.
