We end the week with a seven game NBA DFS main slate tonight, but we do need to be aware of the earlier lineup lock tonight at 6 PM on the east coast. If you want to use stars such as Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, and Donovan Mitchell (who happens to be facing the New York Knicks after they failed to execute a trade for him this summer), then we need to cut costs elsewhere. The key though, is to not do that at the expense of the quality of your roster, so let us take a look at some NBA DFS value picks for tonight. One direction that will be popular tonight is honing in on the San Antonio Spurs as they will be without a few key players tonight such as Devin Vassell and Josh Richardson. 

 

 

DraftKings NBA DFS Value Picks

Will Barton (Washington Wizards), SG/SF, $4,800

We have seen an uptick in volume for Barton while Bradley Beal has managed a back injury in the beginning of the season, but the swingman is still the likely first player off the bench for Washington. With Delon Wright sidelined for a few games, we also have a few extra minutes available in the backcourt, and those should continue going to Barton who played 29, 29, and 35 minutes in his last three games. Overall, Barton is averaging 10.8 points, three rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game, but it would not be surprising in the least to see him go for 15 to 20 points tonight. 

Mitchell Robinson (New York Knicks), C, $5,000

If you feel like Robinson’s price is on the lighter side, you are not imagining things as it has decreased from $6,400 to begin the season. I know that he got off to a slow start this season, there have been issues at times with foul trouble and Cleveland has a strong frontcourt, but Robinson is efficient when on the court and we should get about 30 minutes from him tonight. At this price, it is worth the gamble that he can avoid foul trouble and the fact that he is averaging three blocked shots per game is a nice boost to his value. 

Doug McDermott (San Antonio Spurs); SG/SF, $4,100

We alluded earlier to the fact that San Antonio is missing a few key pieces, so that means should find his way into the starting lineup. In two of his last four games, the veteran has surpassed a 5x return and McDermott has scored in double figures in three out of six games this season. Somebody has to play and fill the box score for the Spurs tonight, and McDermott is a safe option with some upside. 

 

FanDuel NBA DFS Value Picks

Blake Wesley (San Antonio Spurs); SG, $3,700

The first-round pick made his NBA debut on Friday against the Bulls, and after a strong performance in the Summer League, was impressive in 15 minutes of action. Wesley scored 10 points while handing out four assists and the opportunities should only grow from here with San Antonio left looking for offense in the backcourt. 

Bismack Biyombo (Phoenix Suns); C, $4,000

Now that is how you make your presence felt. With Deandre Ayton sidelined, Biyombo had his first real action of the season and was quite efficient with his 23 minutes of action as he scored 11 points while pulling down 13 rebounds. It is a good matchup in what is expected to be a high scoring game against Houston tonight, and even if we do not get a double-double, there should be something similar from Biyombo tonight. 

Bol Bol (Orlando Magic); C; $4,900

In each of his last four games, Bol has hit the 5x mark and his workload peaked with 26 minutes against Charlotte on Friday. Bol is averaging 11.3 points and just under eight rebounds per game in that stretch while also blocking 11 shots. Orlando appears to be committed to Bol and seeing what he can do on the court, and the center has proven to be up to task as he looks to find his groove.
