We have a decent slate of major league baseball tonight and that means Underdog Fantasy props! We are now deep into September and have an entire season of MLB data to pore through so let’s check out the MLB props board at Underdog Fantasy. Tonight, we are looking at three pitchers with fairly low strikeout props. Roansy Contreras, a young pitcher that has shown ace stuff during the season, faces the Yankees; Robbie Ray is in a very good spot against the weak Oakland offense and then Triston McKenzie, faces a White Sox team that he struck out 14 times in their last matchup at the end of August.

Check our MLB Weather center to make sure that all games will be dry and that there are no surprising pop-up storms during roster lock. To get all the confirmed starting lineups make sure to go to the MLB Lineups page. We also have an MLB DFS Lineup Generator and MLB Player Projections to make all of your fantasy baseball lineups plus an MLB Tools page that features batter vs. pitcher and advanced metrics. Now let’s take a look at my three favorite props on Underdog Fantasy for Wednesday’s baseball action.

Underdog Fantasy MLB Top Picks September 21

Roansy Contreras OVER 3.5 Strikeouts

Contreras (5-4, 3.24 ERA) began his professional career with the Yankees and has had a solid run of games recently, especially in his last seven starts. Contreras has pitched 39.1 innings and carries a 2.29 ERA in that span and has hit this prop in three of his last five starts. The young righty has also hit this line in 10 of his 18 starts this season, striking out at least five on nine different occasions. He has ace stuff and will face a Yankees lineup that strikes out 23.4% to right-handed pitching. Contreras will not go deep but 3.5 is a decent number to hit.

Robbie Ray OVER 6.5 Strikeouts

Ray (12-10/3.72 ERA) has a solid matchup against the weak Athletics offense tonight. This is an offense that has posted a 31% K rate against left-handed pitching over the previous two weeks, which is the second worst in baseball over that span. Oakland has a 23.4% K rate over the entire season with a .124 ISO/.285wOBA against southpaws, so Ray should be able to stay out of trouble and go deep in this contest.  In two of his three starts against the Athletics this season he has hit this 6.5 K prop.

Triston McKenzie OVER 5.0 Strikeouts

McKenzie (10-11/3.08 ERA) may have an under .500 overall record, but he comes into tonight’s game with a 3.08 ERA/0.97 WHIP and an 8.82 K/9 on the season. Over his last five starts, the righty has a 2.93 ERA/1.04 WHIP and 8.9 K/9 rate. McKenzie has also given up three or fewer runs in eight straight starts, with a 2.32 ERA/0/92 WHIP and a 54:11 K: BB during that stretch.

McKenzie also forced double-digit whiffs in four consecutive outings and tonight faces the White Sox who are striking out at a high 26.1% clip to right-handed pitching over the last two weeks. In McKenzie’s last two starts this season against this White Sox offense he allowed just two runs over 10 innings with a whopping 18 strikeouts and the current White Sox roster is only hitting .217 career against him. Take the over tonight with Triston McKenzie
