Patrick Sandoval was pulled from Monday night’s start against the Rangers in the fourth inning due to an apparent injury.
Sandoval delivered a ball to walk Mitch Garver in the fourth inning, then immediately walked off the mound and took his glove off. After a visit from skipper Phil Nevin and the training staff, he was pulled from the game. No word yet on exactly what happened, but he’ll head for further evaluation. Expect the Angels to have an update on his status shortly.

S. Hjelle - RP
Giants recalled RHP Sean Hjelle from Triple-A Sacramento.
He’ll add an extra arm to the Giants’ bullpen while Luke Jackson is away on paternity leave. Hjelle has appeared in 13 games already for the Giants this season, registering an underwhelming 8.10 ERA, 2.10 WHIP and a 26/12 K/BB ratio over 23 1/3 innings.

Giants placed RHP Luke Jackson on the paternity list.
The 32-year-old hurler will be away from the team for a few days as he welcomes a new addition to his family. Jackson has been outstanding out of the Giants’ bullpen this season, registering a 2.97 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and a 43/15 K/BB ratio over 33 1/3 innings in 33 appearances.

J. Lindgren - RP
Marlins optioned RHP Jeff Lindgren to Triple-A Jacksonville.
The 27-year-old right-hander was with the team for just two games this time around, and didn’t see any action. On the season, he sports a 5.14 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 1/4 K/BB ratio through seven innings with the Fish.

E. De Jesús - SP
Marlins recalled LHP Enmanuel De Jesus from Triple-A Jacksonville.
The left-hander will get another opportunity to work out of the big league bullpen over the final week of the season with Jeff Lindgren being optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville. De Jesus has appeared in one game for the Marlins this season — posting a 6.23 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and a 3/2 K/BB ratio across 4 1/3 innings. He’ll give them another bullpen arm that’s capable of working multiple frames.

L. Wade Jr. - 1B
LaMonte Wade Jr. is among the Giants’ regulars that are sitting against Padres’ left-hander Blake Snell on Monday evening.
Wade Jr., Joc Pederson and Mike Yastrzemski will all find themselves on the pine to start on Monday night against one of the premium left-handed hurlers in all of baseball. Luis Matos will start in his place in left field and bat third for the Giants on Monday night.

Michael Brantley is once again absent from the Astros’ starting lineup for Monday night’s showdown against the Rangers.
It’s the sixth straight game that Brantley has found himself shelved for due to general soreness. It’s unclear if he’ll be available off the bench for this one. Yordan Alvarez will function as the team’s designated hitter while Mauricio Dubon draws another start in the outfield against Luis Castillo and the Mariners on Monday evening in Seattle.

Luis Campusano is not in the Padres’ starting lineup for Monday’s matchup against the Giants.
It’s nothing more than a routine day of rest for the sweet-swinging backstop. Brett Sullivan will do the catching for the Padres on Monday night and will bat ninth against Logan Webb and the Giants.
