NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Joe Burrow (calf) will be a game-time decision for Week 3 against the Rams.

Rapoport said that Burrow will go through a pre-game workout to determine his status. It’s possible that the Bengals are employing some gamesmanship with Burrow’s status and simply don’t want to tip their hand to the Rams yet. For fantasy managers, this is a nightmare scenario. Burrow plays on Monday meaning there will be next to no backup options available if Burrow doesn’t go. For the bravest managers looking to gamble with Burrow, Matthew Stafford and Baker Mayfield are the emergency options.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Saquon Barkley (ankle) has “a shot” at playing in Week 4 against the Seahawks.

The Giants play on Monday in Week 4, giving Barkley an extra day of rest before potentially suiting up. After reports initially downplayed the nature of Barkley’s ankle issue, Barkley himself eventually confirmed that he was dealing with a high-ankle sprain prior to the Giants’ Thursday game against the 49ers. Though Barkley may have a chance at returning for Week 4, it would be surprising to see the Giants rush him back that quickly. Barkley has labored through injuries in previous seasons and the results weren’t pretty. For now, Matt Breida remains the start in the New York backfield.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Jahmyr Gibbs is expected to get “the majority of the work” in Week 3 against the Falcons.

Gibbs is expected to draw the start in Week 3 with David Montgomery listed as doubtful because of a thigh issue. Pelissero eventually added that the Lions would still use multiple backs, but all signs are pointing to a strong workload for Gibbs in his third game as a pro. He is in line for high-end RB2 numbers versus the Falcons this week.

NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo reports Jaylen Warren is expected to see “more work for the Steelers in the running game.”

Garafolo also mentioned the Steelers’ expectations of Najee Harris getting better as the season goes on, so this isn’t a full backfield takeover from Warren yet. Still, Warren has looked like the more explosive back in Pittsburgh this year and that was readily apparent during his rookie season as well. With just nine carries through two games, it makes sense for Mike Tomlin to get Warren more involved on the ground. Warren is a high-risk FLEX option heading into Week 3.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Vikings C Garrett Bradbury (back) is not expected to play in Week 3 against the Chargers.

The good news is that left tackle Christian Darrisaw is expected to start. Darrisaw was active for Week 2 but remained on the sidelines as an emergency backup. He was removed from the injury report on Friday and is ready to resume his spot on the line. Bradbury logged back-to-back limited practice this week, putting him in position to return in Week 4 if he can’t go versus the Chargers.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Chargers EDGE Joey Bosa (hamstring) is expected to play in Week 3 against the Vikings.

Bosa played through the hamstring last week but was limited to 19 snaps. Despite the pitch count, Bosa racked up two sacks and two TFLs. Per Pelissero, he will see his workload scaled up versus Minnesota. Bosa will still be subbed off to help prevent his hamstring issue from worsening, but it sounds like things are progressing in the right direction for the star defender.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Cowboys LT Tyron Smith (hamstring) “is the most likely to go” of the Cowboys’ three injured offensive linemen.

The other injured linemen are right guard Zack Martin and center Tyler Biadasz. Smith wasn’t on the team’s final injury report on Friday but was then added on Saturday with a hamstring issue. The Cowboys should be able to get by without a fully healthy line this week as they are facing the Cardinals. The bigger concern will be if any of these injuries linger into the following weeks.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Kadarius Toney (toe) is a game-time decision for Week 3 against the Bears.

Toney didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday before getting in a limited session on Friday. Given his extensive injury history, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Chiefs hold him out for a week. If he can’t go, Rashee Rice could get some extra run as the team’s third receiver, though it would be hard to trust the rookie for fantasy purposes.
