NFL Underdog Fantasy Top Picks

Week 11 Thursday Night Football Bengals vs Ravens

Keaton Mitchell, Baltimore Ravens – HIGHER Than 36.5 Rushing Yards

It might soon be Keaton Mitchell SZN in Baltimore. The rookie running back exploded onto the scene two weeks ago with 138 rushing yards on just nine carries with multiple long gains, including a 40-yard TD run. Last week, he only saw three carries but still had 34 yards with another breakaway touchdown. Mitchell also had 32 receiving yards on two catches in that game. His explosiveness is very evident and he’s now averaging 13.9 yards per touch in limited work this season. Well, that workload is expected to increase now.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh suggested earlier this week that Mitchell would get more work moving forward and this short-week matchup is a great opportunity. The Cincinnati Bengals defense has struggled to stop the run, allowing 136.2 rushing yards per game (3rd-most in NFL) and 5.0 yards per carry (2nd-most). Last week, Texans RB Devin Singletary tore up the Cincy defense for 150 rushing yards. If Mitchell does get more carries, then his explosive running style against a shaky run defense should help him easily get 40+ rushing yards – and he might do it on a single attempt. Gus Edwards struggled last week with only 24 yards on 11 carries. There may be a changing-of-the-guard in the Ravens backfield with how good Mitchell has looked.

Trenton Irwin, Cincinnati Bengals – HIGHER Than 34.5 Receiving Yards

Tee Higgins is set to miss his second straight game for the Cincinnati Bengals. In Higgins’ absence last week, Trenton Irwin moved up to WR3 and logged 81% of the offensive snaps. With the increased role, the Cincy wideout had 54 receiving yards and a TD on four targets. It’s not a huge day, but we know Irwin will be on the field a lot as the Bengals use a lot of three-WR formations. Back in Week 5 when Higgins was out, Irwin played 76% of the snaps and had 60 receiving yards on eight catches and 10 targets.

So, he’s had more than this receiving line in both games with Higgins sidelined this season. Plus, when Higgins got hurt in a game last year, Irwin had 58 receiving yards with an 84% snap share. Though the Baltimore Ravens have been tough defensively against the pass, Irwin can do just enough to have 35+ yards tonight.
