NFL Underdog Fantasy Top Picks
Week 4 Thursday Night Football Lions vs Packers Picks
Jayden Reed, Green Bay Packers – HIGHER Than 36.5 Receiving Yards
Through three games, Jayden Reed has emerged as one of Jordan Love’s favorite targets in the Green Bay Packers offense. Reed’s 148 receiving yards lead the team so far and his 20 targets are tied for the team-high with Romeo Doubs. In Week 3, Reed made a highlight-reel diving catch and put up 63 yards on three catches and seven targets. Though Doubs and Luke Musgrave appear to be safer underneath options for Love, the rookie Reed has big-play ability and can do more with fewer receptions. His receiving yardage totals over the first three weeks are 48, 37, and 63. The Detroit Lions' defense shut down the Falcons last week, but they also gave up 37 points to the Seahawks the week before. Seattle had 328 passing yards in that game with six different receivers having 34+ yards, including 75 for DK Metcalf and 59 for Tyler Lockett. Back in Week 1, the Lions allowed two Chiefs receivers to total 45+ yards – though we all know how many drops there were in that game. Look for Reed to be a top pass-catching weapon for Love and the Packers tonight.
Brian Branch, Detroit Lions – HIGHER Than 6.0 Tackles + Assists
The Detroit Lions are dealing with injuries to both of their starting safeties and it’s allowed rookie Brian Branch to step into a bigger role. C.J. Gardner-Johnson is on IR and Kerby Joseph is questionable to play tonight with a hip injury that sidelined him last week. With both out in Week 3, Branch logged 11 tackles (all solo) while playing 100% of the defensive snaps. He was the Lions’ nickel corner in Weeks 1 and 2, which kept him at less than 70% of the snaps in both games. He also had just three and four total tackles in those games with Gardner-Johnson and Joseph active. Last week, though, the former Alabama standout was making plays all over the field while manning one of the safety spots. With Aaron Jones trending towards returning this week, the Green Bay Packers could give him and A.J. Dillon plenty of touches in the running game. That would boost the tackle opportunities for Branch as he plays up in the box as a run-stuffer – which he did last week against the Falcons’ rushing attack en route to double-digit tackles.
