MLB Underdog Fantasy Top Picks July 26

Kyle Bradish, Baltimore Orioles – UNDER 3.0 Earned Runs

In case you haven’t noticed, Kyle Bradish has been one of the best pitchers in the league over the past few months. The Baltimore Orioles right-hander has a 1.62 ERA over his last seven starts and, going back further, he has a 2.68 ERA over his last 15 outings. He’s allowed less than three earned runs in seven straight starts and in 10 of his past 13 – with exactly three earned runs in two others. The second-year starter is having a breakout season for Baltimore and we’ll bank on him to keep it going tonight. The Philadelphia Phillies offense is in a huge slump right now, averaging just 3.25 runs per game over the past eight contests. Against right-handed pitching over the past week, the Phillies have an abysmal .245 wOBA and .199 batting average with a 26.2% K rate. Even on the road here, Bradish should limit the runs against an underperforming offense.

Cody Bellinger, Chicago Cubs – OVER 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI

We missed on this same prop for Cody Bellinger yesterday as the Chicago Cubs outfielder went 0-for-4 with just one RBI. Still, the stats and matchup tell us to go right back there tonight. Bellinger has been on fire with a .395 batting average and 1.195 OPS since the All-Star break. Over 20 games in July, he’s hitting .429 with 33 hits, 23 RBI, 18 runs scored, and seven home runs. He’s also gone over 1.5 hits+runs+RBI in nine of the past 12 games and in 18 of the past 22 contests.  As Bellinger’s name pops up in MLB trade rumors, his current hot streak is forcing the Cubs to reconsider before the MLB trade deadline. Tonight, he’ll face Chicago White Sox starter Lance Lynn and we should expect a bounce back after last night’s O-fer. Lynn has a 6.18 ERA and 1.44 WHIP this season and could allow plenty of offensive production to a Cubs lineup that’s hitting righties well lately. The ChiSox righty has given up 14 hits and 13 runs combined over his past two starts alone. Left-handed hitters are batting .338 with a .441 wOBA against Lynn this year. Meanwhile, Bellinger is hitting .297 against righties.
