Welcome to the Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Report! The waiver wire is key to winning. It helps you improve on the team you drafted, and to help patch holes when players go down due to injury. It’s something most managers will monitor daily. Let’s take a look at who we should be adding this week.

Evgeni Dadonov - Vegas Golden Knights - Winger

Everyone was certain that Evgeni Dadonov was on his way to Anaheim, but that trade fell through because the team he was going to was on his no-trade list. He missed two games due to all this, but since coming back, he has three points in two games and five goals in the last four. With Mark Stone and Max Pacioretty out of the lineup, the veteran winger is going to be counted upon to provide some offence, and he’s been doing that. He’s 8% owned on Yahoo!, so now would be a good time to scoop him up.

Kevin Hayes - Philadelphia Flyers - Centre

It’s been a disastrous season for the Philadelphia Flyers, but they still have some players who can contribute down the stretch. Kevin Hayes has seven points in the last four games and has played over 20-minutes in three of them. The veteran centerman isn’t going to keep this pace up, but he’s hot and can help a fantasy team desperate for some offence. He’s widely available across almost every site.

Philip Danault - Los Angeles Kings - Center

Philip Danault has been a great surprise for the L.A. Kings. We knew he would be good in his own end, but the 21-goals so far this season is pretty amazing. He’s been playing great of late but is still not getting the respect he deserves. The Kings are still in the hunt for a playoff spot and their division isn’t exactly an easy one. They are going to face some pretty terrible teams in the next few weeks, so Danault has a real chance at continuing his strong play. In deeper formats, he should not be on the waiver wire, and if he is, go get him.

Logan Thompson - Vegas Golden Knights - Goalie

The Vegas Golden Knights just can’t escape the injury bug. Roblin Lehner is out for a while and Laurent Brossoit’s status is up in the air. Logan Thompson has stepped up and has started eight games in a row. They haven’t all been great, but his numbers are still pretty respectable. Vegas is still in a hunt for a playoff spot, so they are going to roll with whichever goalie is hot and that could be Thompson. He’s worth considering if you’re desperate for a goalie.

Jordan Harris - Montreal Canadiens - Defence

This is a long-shot player, but if it works out, it could help someone win a fantasy hockey championship. Jordan Harris signed his two-year entry-level contract and could be in the lineup as soon as next week. He just completed his season at Northeastern University, and with the Canadiens officially eliminated from the playoffs, it would serve them well to give younger players some additional ice time. Harris isn’t going to come in a take over the team, but he’s an offensive defenceman who can move the puck, and with Jeff Petry out for a while, this is the perfect opportunity for the kid to excel. He’s still not in the Yahoo! player pool, but that should change over the next few days.
