NFL Fantasy Football News August 25

Denver Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy Injures Hamstring

Early reports are that Jeudy will miss “several weeks” with the hamstring injury which would almost certainly rule out the game against the Raiders in two weeks. These soft tissue injuries can be dangerous. Keenan Allen was expected back early last year and missed half the season. So be careful in your fantasy drafts.

Jonathan Taylor Trade Rumors, “Not Interested" in Chicago Bears

If this source is to be believed (and I’m not 100% sure on that), Jonathan Taylor reportedly would be reluctant to sign a long-term deal with the Chicago Bears and the Miami Dolphins would be his preferred landing spot. Not sure what kind of leverage Taylor thinks he has here or what his hesitancy would be about Chicago but it’s worth mentioning as his agent seeks a trade destination for the star RB. For what it’s worth, the Colts apparently rejected the Dolphins' initial offer for Taylor.

Kyler Murray Could Miss the Season

This is an interesting development. Kyler Murray’s camp had originally been suggesting he could play in Week 1. In fact, he said himself on video that his goal was to play Week 1. But now there is some info coming out that the Arizona Cardinals are privately telling people he might not play at all. If he’s not healthy then he’s not healthy but, if he wants to protect his job from Caleb Williams, it would be in his best interest to play. At least one beat writer in the Arizona area, Bo Brack of PHNX Sports, isn’t buying the report, however.

Arizona Cardinals Make Three Trades: Isaiah Simmons and Josh Jones out, Joshua Dobbs in

Lending some credence to the Kyler Murray injury rumor above, the Cardinals traded for quarterback Joshua Dobbs yesterday (they sent a 5th-round pick for Dobbs and a 7th). Dobbs looked solid in a couple of games he started for the Tennessee Titans last year. The Cardinals also traded former first-round pick Isaiah Simmons to the New York Giants for a 7th-round pick which indicates he was likely a cut candidate then moved lineman Josh Jones and a 7th-round pick for a 5th. All in all, the Cards essentially shipped two players out for Dobbs and a 7th.

Corey Davis Announces Retirement After Seven Seasons

The former first-round pick has made the decision to call it a career after two teams and seven seasons. We wish him well in his next endeavor. The decision will also free up $10.5 million in cap space for the New York Jets which is no small sum.

Former New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman Joining Fox Sports as Analyst

Julian Edelman has been no stranger to the camera between his commercials and his YouTube endeavors. Now he’ll take the step to the next level by joining Fox Sports for their Sunday NFL Kickoff Show.
