According to Andscape's Marc Spears, Malcolm Brogdon (right forearm strain) is expected to play in Monday's Game 7 against the Heat.

After playing eight minutes in Game 5, Brogdon was held out of Boston's Game 6 victory on Saturday. His expected return means that the Celtics will have an eight-man rotation for the series decider. Sam Hauser was technically the eighth man on Saturday, but he only played two minutes. Even with Brogdon available, look for starters Marcus Smart and Derrick White to play most of the minutes at the guard positions.

Brogdon didnâ??t play in Game 6 and played only a few minutes in Game 5. If he canâ??t play in Game 7, Derrick White and Marcus Smart should fill the majority of the guard minutes, with Jaylen Brown playing a few to give them a rest.

There shouldnâ??t be much concern about Vincent actually missing this game. It could be their last game of the season, and heâ??s been one of, if not the best player on the team in this series. Heâ??ll need to have a big night if they want to avoid being on the wrong side of history.

The Bulls â??privately donâ??t think that itâ??s likely Lonzo Ball will ever play again,â? according to a report from Dan Bernstein on the Organizations Win Championships Podcast.

Itâ??s certainly a worst-case scenario outlook, but it shouldnâ??t be a surprising report, since it has been a year and a half since Ball has played. There have been numerous reports suggesting that the doctors donâ??t know what is wrong with his knee, and he had a third surgery in March. Lonzo is obviously a talented player that can make a huge fantasy impact when heâ??s healthy, but a report like this is grim. He could certainly make a miraculous recovery, but it may be a long time before that happens.

Jaylen Brown finished Saturdayâ??s close win over Miami with 26 points, 10 rebounds, three dimes and two steals.

Brown missed all four of his three-point attempts, but he was an efficient 9-of-16 from the floor overall and finished behind only Jayson Tatum for team lead in scoring. The points were certainly needed, but Brownâ??s biggest impact was his rebounding, as he seemed to fly in from nowhere to crash the glass throughout the contest. The 10 rebounds were his most since Game 1 of the first-round series against Atlanta, and Brown led his team in offensive rebounds with five. Jayson Tatumâ??s 31/12/5/1/2 line was monstrous, and Marcus Smart delivered a second straight 20-point outing, but Brown was arguably the teamâ??s best player in this one. He and his teammates will look to keep the momentum going in a home Game 7 on Monday.

Caleb Martin totaled 21 points, 15 rebounds, an assist, a steal, a block and four triples Saturday in a 104-103 loss to the Celtics.

Martin provided his second career playoff double-double and a career-best rebound total in any game. Martin has been Miamiâ??s most reliable - and arguably its best - player this series, and he was the best player on the team for the first 43 minutes of the contest. Jimmy Butler came through with some clutch buckets and free throws down the stretch, but he and Bam Adebayo scored 35 combined points on 9-of-37 shooting. With a winner-take-all Game 7 in Boston on Monday, Martin should be expected to play big minutes yet again, and it wouldnâ??t be surprising to see him back with the starting five.

Jimmy Butler accounted for 24 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, a steal and two triples in Saturdayâ??s loss to Boston in Game 6.

Butlerâ??s near triple-double gives the illusion that he had a stellar game, but the raw stats donâ??t tell the whole story. In a closeout contest at home, Butler - arguably the best player in the 2023 playoffs - shrunk for most of the night, shooting a dreadful 5-of-21 from the floor. He made shots when it counted, scoring 13 points over the final five minutes of the game, including a trio of free throws with three seconds remaining. Unfortunately, Butlerâ??s late rally wasnâ??t enough to dig the Heat out from a hole that he and Bam Adebayo dug with their poor shooting. The pair combined for 35 points on 9-of-37 shooting in the biggest game of the season, and now all the pressure is on Miami for Mondayâ??s Game 7. Butler will need to be much better than this if the Heat hope to avoid a calamitous collapse.

Derrick White finished Saturdayâ??s win over Miami with 11 points, six assists, four rebounds, a steal, three blocks and three triples.

Whiteâ??s scoring total wonâ??t get anyone out of their seats, but his final two points certainly will. Miami went on a furious rally to close out the final minutes of the game, culminating in Jimmy Butler sinking three clutch free throws with just three seconds to play to put Miami up 103-102. On the ensuing inbounds play, Marcus Smartâ??s desperation three rattled out, and White rushed in on the baseline to tip in the rebound and win the game at the buzzer. For a few seconds, it appeared that Miami had done the unthinkable and punched its ticket to the NBA Finals, and Jimmy Butler could clearly be seen on the sidelines saying â??One stop.â? The Heat came within that one stop of wrapping this series, and this one has got to be gut-wrenching for team morale heading back to Boston for Game 7. The fact that Boston won three straight has given the team all the momentum, but winning Game 6 in this fashion should give the Celtics a ton of confidence. Boston has a chance to be the first team in NBA history to overcome an 0-3 playoff series deficit, and itâ??s thanks to an all-time classic played Saturday.
