Rockies reassigned LHP Logan Allen, RHPs Jeff Criswell and Karl Kauffmann and C Braxton Fulford to minor league camp.

No huge surprises among this group of cuts. Allen has appeared in 33 big league games over the past four seasons and could be an option for the Rockies' bullpen at some point during the 2023 season. He posted a miserable 12.71 ERA and 2.65 WHIP over 5 2/3 innings of Cactus League competition.

Rockies optioned INF Nolan Jones to Triple-A Albuquerque.

The 24-year-old really struggled in Cactus League play this spring, hitting just .186 (8-for-43) with no homers, five RBI and one stolen base. That, combined with the fact that the Rockies added Mike Moustakas, made it very unlikely that Jones was going to crack the Opening Day roster in a reserve role. He's still an intriguing young bat, but he'll have to wait for an opportunity with the Rockies.

Rockies optioned RHP Noah Davis to Triple-A Albuquerque.

The 25-year-old hurler pitched decently in Cactus League play, posting a 4.15 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and an 8/8 K/BB ratio over 13 innings. He'll open the season in the rotation at Triple-A Albuquerque where he'll bide his time until he's needed once again at the big league level.

Brooks Raley (hamstring) is expected to return to Grapefruit League action before the end of the week.

The left-hander threw a successful bullpen session on Sunday without any issue. He was diagnosed with a low-grade left hamstring strain in early March, but it sounds like he's over the issue now and ready to rock. As long as he gets a couple of appearances in before the regular season begins, he should be fine. Raley will be required to carry a bigger load in the Mets bullpen with the rest of the setup corps moved up after the devastating knee injury suffered by Edwin Diaz.

Corey Dickerson went 1-for-3 with a double and drove in a pair of runs on Monday night as the Nationals eked out a 3-2 victory over the Mets in Grapefruit League play.

Dickerson got the Nationals on the board with a game-tying RBI double off of Justin Verlander in the opening inning. He then worked a bases-loaded walk off of him in the fifth inning that forced in the go-ahead run. Dickerson continues to see regular action in the middle of the Nationals lineup -- this time as their designated hitter in the cleanup spot -- so expect that trend to continue into the regular season. He's hitting .206 (7-for-34) with no homers and four RBI this spring.

Patrick Corbin delivered another strong Grapefruit League performance in Monday's victory over the Mets, giving up just one run on five hits over six strong innings.

The 33-year-old southpaw racked up five strikeouts on the night and didn't walk a batter. The only tally against him came in the opening inning as Starling Marte singled, swiped second base and scored on a two-out single by Tommy Pham. Aside from that, Corbin was surprisingly excellent. He's had himself a solid spring so far, posting a 3.86 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 13/1 K/BB ratio over 14 innings. Is Corbin going to suddenly return to fantasy relevance in 2023? With a non-existent average draft position outside the top-650 picks overall.

Starling Marte went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base as the Mets fell to the Nationals in Grapefruit League action on Monday evening.

Marte smacked a one-out single off of Patrick Corbin in the opening inning, swiped second base and then dashed around to score on Tommy Pham's RBI single. The 34-year-old outfielder has looked like the player we have come to expect him to be in his limited Grapefruit League action -- hitting .353 (6-for-17) with a homer, three RBI and two stolen bases.

Justin Verlander struggled badly with his command in Monday's Grapefruit League loss to the Nationals, issuing six walks over 4 2/3 innings of two-run baseball.

The right-hander ultimately allowed just two hits on the night while striking out three. He hadn't allowed a single base on balls through his first 11 1/3 innings of the spring, then all of a sudden couldn't command the strike zone on Monday. Still, he used his savvy to pitch out of several jams and only allowed two runs -- an RBI double to Corey Dickerson in the first and a bases-loaded walk to Dickerson in the fifth. He's been great for the most part this spring, compiling a 2.25 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 19/6 K/BB ratio across 16 frames.
